Get inspired during the free Meet Rotterdam @ Art Rotterdam tour. For the 3rd time, the Art Index Rotterdam team curates a thematic tour of the International Art Fair in the Van Nelle Factory. An uninhibited introduction to art and personal encounters, focusing on Rotterdam galleries and artists.

Friday Night Art Walk - Kunstavond XL
Join us on Friday, May 20 for one of two Friday Night Art Walks in collaboration with CBK Rotterdam during Kunstavond-XL. During these free evening art expeditions, we'll look at the city and the public art collection through the eyes of a special guest, who will determine the theme and route. A copy of the publication 'Beelden' will be raffled off among the participants. This time photographer Otto Snoek will give the tour starting at 7.30 PM (in Dutch). We know his work because he is one of the people who determines the image of public art on behalf of CBK Rotterdam. We start on the Noordereiland, then we walk to the Witte de Withstraat in an hour and a half. The walk is about looking and seeing through the eyes of a professional photographer along his personal selection of artworks on the street. From 9.30 PM the walk will go on with the guide Anne-Marie Ros from Art Index (in English). During her tour she will take us to special works of light art in the city center.

Art Index Rotterdam_ Museum Park tour - first impression
An enthusiastic, experienced guide takes you for a surprising orientation along different art institutions: Chabot Museum, Het Nieuwe Instituut, a tour on the roof of Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen, at Kunsthal Rotterdam a Calder NOW! mini-tour, and architecture in and around the park. Art Index Rotterdam_ First Steps Art Walk
Art Index Rotterdam_ First Steps Art Walk is a unique way to experience the 'history' of the city through art. Guide Anne-Marie Ros takes you along in search of the origins of Rotterdam. We will look at striking public art, such as 'Everyone is dead but us'. Descend into traces from the past and search for boundaries in word and image. We pause to consider what was lost and what is to come. See the first port of Rotterdam, stand still where once pigeons were fed and Erasmus saw his first daylight. Follow the Rotte upstream, where it enters the historic city triangle. Join us for a 1.5 - 2 hour walk for a joyful Art Walk.
