For Kim van Norren (1980, the Netherlands), painting starts with the search for a text in which she can distinguish a personal experience. Form, color and text are her three main ingredients while the latter gains a potency which emerges from its confluence with the image. She finds her words in song lyrics, among others, granting them a whole new meaning once lifted from their context.

Van Norren was a resident at De Ateliers in the Netherlands. She won the Royal Award for Modern Painting in 2010 and the Sieger White Award in 2014. She has exhibited her work at venues such as the Dordrechts Museum, Museum de Fundatie, Rijksmuseum Twenthe and Stedelijk Museum Schiedam in the Netherlands. Her work is held in various public and private collections, among which the Caldic Collection in the Netherlands.

*Collected Affinities* is a moment of reflection: a celebration of five years of presenting, selecting, representing and connecting. This salon-style exhibition combines works by the artists represented by the gallery with a personal selection of key works that have acquired particular significance over the years.

The exhibition brings together diverse artistic voices around themes such as history, identity, memory, displacement, community and imagination. Through their relationships with one another, the works reveal unexpected affinities, tensions and dialogues. The result is a layered presentation in which personal engagement and curatorial choices converge.

*Collected Affinities* invites visitors to look closely at the connections art can create: between artists, stories and perspectives, and between the personal and the universal. This salon presentation not only reflects on five years of the gallery's history but also outlines the contours of an ongoing artistic dialogue.
